Seriously. I did. I completely fell on my butt in yoga class.
A lesson in resilience…
The posture wasn’t even very “balance intensive”… but I went DOWN.
The instructor noticed right away and asked if I was okay…
And I found myself chuckling – and not in an ironic way or from embarrassment – but a full-fledged, joy-filled laugh at my own clumsiness because it was hilarious to fall over in a posture where both feet were planted on the ground!
But this is the lesson I took away from it:
All of us fall down in life in different ways…
The question I have to ask is: How are you getting back up from that fall?
What I have learned over the past couple years is that having a support team or community helps me get up every time I’ve fallen…
Even in this instance, just having my instructor stop and ask if I was okay, was extremely helpful because I knew she really cared.
So, I would love it if you could take a moment and ponder where you feel you’ve been falling in your life…
Are you laughing in the face of what could have been pain and humiliation and deciding to get up again to try another day? (I truly hope you are!)
This is why this is so important to me…your body is giving you messages all day long, every single day…
- It could be in the pain in your neck or your back
- It could be in the extra pounds that you wish you weren’t carrying
- It could be having more than 3-4 colds or sinus infections per year (this isn’t “normal“, btw)
I know what that is like because once I finally started listening to my body and healing it myself, I realized that living a life of being sick and tired was emotionally exhausting as well!
What I know for sure:
We all have resilience
I’m not special because I laughed when I got back on my feet in yoga class and finished out the rest of the session…
It just means I’m pretty well practiced at falling on my butt and I’ve learned it heals my soul to laugh at myself rather than beat myself up about it…
We all have the ability to get back up after we have fallen so that we can attain our goals.
So, if you are having any unwanted symptoms or aren’t happy with something your body just seems to be doing that won’t go away…I invite you to schedule some time on my calendar for a free “Take My Body Back!” session.
These sessions last an hour and it is a place where we:
- Get really clear on your goals
- Identify any obstacles that may be standing in your way
- Formulate a plan to attain your goals
It would be my complete honor to help you get your body back and feel good in it again!
I have opened up some slots on my calendar over the next couple weeks if you would like to schedule a free “Take Your Body Back!” session.
And yes, I will be doing these calls on Monday, Memorial Day, as I feel very strongly about being available to help you feel better ASAP!
I hope you have a fantastic holiday weekend and here’s to getting off our butts when life knocks us down (or we fall in yoga…whichever is applicable!) 🙂
Yours in health,
